MARGAO: The Goa Human Rights Commission on Monday has issued notices to the Inspector General of Prisons, Panaji, and other officials to appear before it on April 26, in connection with the complaint lodged by Ravindra Velip alleging assault on him inside Sada sub-jail.
The assistant superintendent of jail, sub-jail Sada, the police inspector, Mormugao police station and the superintendent of police (South) are others who have been directed to appear before the Commission.
In another application filed on Tuesday, Ravindra has contended that eleven days after the medico legal case was recorded, the Mormugao police was yet to register an FIR despite the fact that the MLC paper attached clearly had the ingredients of a cognizable offence.
He has further stated in his complaint that he had no faith in government inquiries on account of administrative apathy and the history of administrative violation of the human rights of the villagers of Caurem.
