Road hot-mixing in Fatorda every week, boasts Vijai

MARGAO

Many an Opposition MLA may complain of the delay in getting a carpet of hot-mix on roads in their constituencies, but Fatorda represented by TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai will get one major hot mixed road every week, beginning from Saturday.

In fact, the TCP Minister told the media after inaugurating hot-mixing of roads in Ward No 2 of Margao at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore that he would launch a road hot-mixing project every week in each of the 12 municipal wards in his constituency. “I have received sanction for hot-mixing of all roads in the 12 wards in Fatorda. Each of these works will be launched every week and the entire project will be complete within the next one month and half,” Sardesai said.

He, however, had a word of caution for the local residents that he would not entertain any request for road cutting or road digging after the roads are hot mixed. In fact, he made a fervent plea to the residents to get their road cutting works for water supply and other utilities done before the roads are hot mixed. “The roads are being hot mixed after spending huge amount of money. The residents staying on both sides of the roads still have the time to complete the work on the road cutting to lay utilities,” he added.

The Fatorda MLA further said that residents of Fatorda, who did not connect their households to the sewerage line, due to objections from land owners will now get connected through legal provision. “MMC headed by Chairperson Babita Prabhudesai has now come out with a rule wherein the civic body will recommend disconnection of water and power of anyone trying to obstruct sewerage connection for whatever reason,” he said.
