The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Konkan Railway carried out multiple enforcement, rescue, and crime prevention operations during the last calendar year, leading to the recovery of stolen property, rescue of minors, and arrests in several cases, officials said.
Under Operation Amanat, the RPF traced and returned belongings of 252 passengers valued at Rs 122.48 lakh. Under Operation Nanhe Farishte, 98 minor children were rescued and handed over to the Child Helpline for care and rehabilitation.
As part of Operation Satark, the RPF seized 6,877 bottles of illicit liquor worth Rs 10.71 lakh and arrested 65 bootleggers. In addition, 192 cases were detected under the ACP category, leading to the arrest and prosecution of 222 offenders under Section 141 of the Railway Act.
RPF personnel also saved the lives of four passengers under the Jeevan Raksha initiative and arrested 40 persons involved in luggage theft, recovering stolen property worth Rs 48.67 lakh.
