Important vehicle documents found dumped on the road

RTO'S MAKESHIFT OFFICE ALONG THE OLD GOA BY-PASS ROAD

The imporatant documents of the Directorate of Transport, Government of Goa believed to be destroyed in a fire incident on 2 October 2017 were discovered along the Old Goa By-Pass Road near Merces circle along with other dumps. 

While some documents were burnt, many documents like identification and residential proofs, notorised documnets along with application for vehicle tranfer, Registration Certificate Book, Insurence papers, licenses were found in readable and undamaged state. Documents proving vehicle ownership of various private companies were also found lying along the road side. 

Despite of the orders of auditing the loss, questions are raised whether these documents were audited or not.  

After the pictures went viral on social media, the authorities started clearing up. But when the Goan Everyday visited the site for further assesment, the labourers hired by the authorities were found pushing the files and papers into the adjacent field to make them invisible.

PANAJIGoan disability rights activist Sripad Pai Bir from Chimbel has been awarded the ADAPT National Award for Civil Rights and Activism at a function held on World Cerebral Palsy Day at ADAPT (formerly Spastics Society of India) in Mumbai recently.
