RVNL mobilises armed RPF during inspection at Guirdolim

The Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd mobilised armed Railway Protection Force (RPF) in strength at Guirdolim as a precautionary measure to handle any untoward incident during the inspection on Friday evening.

In fact, no sooner the protesters and the Railway officials descended at the work site, armed RPF personnel also moved closer to the spot, before a senior railway officials requested them that they can take positions a little away from the people.

The railway officials carried out the inspections with the villagers and protesters under the watchful eyes of the RPF personnel. 

There was not a single occasion where the presence of the RPF was required to provide security for the railway officials. Only at the fag end of the inspection, where the protesters insisted on stopping all work at the site, that a railway official was seen calling the RPF personnel near them. 

The inspection passed off peacefully after the RVNL officials finally conceded to the public demand for a stop to the ongoing works till such time a joint meeting of the stakeholders is held in the village on Saturday.
