Speaking to media persons, ESG CEO Ameya Abhyankar said, “This year South Korea is the partner country and the focus country for IFFI. Last month, we had a meeting in Delhi with some of the main Korean business houses. Koreans this year are not only bringing films but also bringing in a 40-member business delegation to the Festival. So alongside IFFI, we will have a round table where we will invite the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry to try and see how we can leverage opportunities in the field of commerce, trade and manufacturing.”
Stating that there are several Korean manufacturers of FMCG, he said, “We have ESDM coming up in Tuem. We are trying to see how we can bring them into invest in the State of Goa.”
Pointing out that the Air Asia’s direct flight from Goa to Kuala Lampur has opened up connectivity to South and South-East Asia, he said, “We have had a dialogue and Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) is coming down for the festival in order to showcase itself as a cinematic destination. We have already initiated a communication with GTDC and see how they can also leverage from participation of KTO in the festival.”
