The persistent water shortage in Prabhunagar, Ponda, has been resolved, said PWD Division III Executive Engineer Soma Naik, suggesting possible sabotage.
“I’m surprised the media still reports issues in Ponda. The problem was fixed two days ago,” Naik said. The cause was a crucial valve being shut, likely by miscreants.
“It took 2-3 days to locate the faulty valve, but we arranged alternate supply,” he added.
Locals had protested and filed a police complaint over the delay.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant later met residents and assured them the crisis would be resolved.
