BICHOLIM r rElections were conducted at the Advalpal village panchayat under the guidance of Rohidas Naik from Block Development Office Bicholim as the presiding officer. rBoth panch members were elected unanimously as there were no other nominations received. Panchayat secretary Samir Parrikar also assisted in the election process. Bicholim MLA Rajesh Patnekar has congratulated Salgaonkar and Gaonkar, who have assured to undertake all round development of Advalpal village. rRajesh Patnekar has claimed that 5 of the 6 village panchayats are backed by the BJP. Only Menkurem panchayat has supported former Bicholim MLA Naresh Sawal’s group. BJP claims to have control in 14 of the 16 village panchayats in Bicholim taluka.
Salgaonkar holds fort at Advalpal
Narayan Salgaonkar has been unanimously elected sarpanch, while Deepali Gaonkar was elected deputy sarpanch of Advalpal panchayat.
