PANAJI: All Goa part time instructors working under the Goa Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan on Monday held a protest at Azad Maidan for their long-pending demand of regularisation of services.
Around 70 such instructors have formed a union affiliated to the Goa Trade Union Confederation.
The GTUC leader Swati Shet said that earlier when the issue was raised in the Goa Assembly, the Chief Minister gave a categorical assurance of regularising them but till date nothing happened.
They are called ‘part-time instructors’ but they are working full-time for more than 8 hours, Shet added.
“We demand our jobs be regularised and budgetary provision be made for the same,” demanded Shrikrishna Naik, one of the instructors.
These instructors are in service for more than five years with a salary of only Rs 15000.
