SANGUEM
The Sangampur Ganeshotsav Mandal received an overwhelming response to its grand Mahaprasad donation coupon distribution organised on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Devotees from Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka turned up in large numbers to purchase the coupons.
The distribution of Mahaprasad donation coupons was originally scheduled to begin at 10 am. However, as devotees had started forming queues from the previous night, the Mandal changed its decision and commenced the distribution from 8 am. The coupons were completely sold out by evening, following which the sales centre was closed.
Initially, each devotee was being given two coupon books. However, as the crowd began increasing after noon, the Mandal decided to issue only one book per person. Despite this, the response continued to grow steadily.
In view of the heavy rush expected in the market area this year, the Mandal shifted the coupon distribution from the municipal hall to the municipal guest house located behind the Forest Department office. Elaborate security arrangements were made by the police and traffic police under the guidance of Sanguem Police Station Inspector Ditendra Naik.
The Mandal has announced attractive prizes for lucky coupon holders this year including three flats and 18 cars which was one of the major reasons for the tremendous response.
Mandal Secretary Rupesh Naik announced the completion of the sale and thanked all devotees who purchased the Mahaprasad coupons and extended their support to the Mandal.
