Sanvordem meet to chalk out solution to dust problem

A joint meeting of Sanvordem panchayat members, mine officials, Sanguem mamlatdar, deputy collector, PWD officials and police officials has been convened on April 20 at 11 am to deliberate on traffic congestion, dust pollution and other related issues.

The meeting will be held at Sanvordem panchayat hall and locals are also expected to be present.
It may be recalled that Sanvordem locals have been demanding a solution to traffic congestion, rash driving and dust pollution. Several joint meetings were convened with various officials, but the locals have claimed that the issue has been unresolved.
Sanvordem Sarpanch Sanjay told The Goan that a joint meeting has been convened on Wednesday.
“Mine officials, government officials and the deputy collector will be present. Locals have also been invited and we will focus on concrete solutions to these issues,” Naik said. He further said the dust-sucking machine, which was planned to be launched by a mining company, will be put to use by next month.

Arlekar’s MoI remark under fire
