The three-day Saraswat Food & Cultural Festival 2024 organised by the Goa Saraswat Samaj will be held at the sprawling BPS sports Club, Margao on February 2.
A host of programmes and competitions are lined up on all the three days, including the Saraswat Kumari and Saraswat Kumar, Mr and Ms Saraswat, Miss Saraswat, Mr Saraswat, besides a Saraswat fashion show.
Addressing media, President of Goa Saraswat Samaj Dr Desh Prabhudesai said the besides food festival, various on stage and off stage competitions will be organized on all the three days of festivities.
He said while Margao MLA Digambar Kamat will inaugurate the food festival on February 2, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai will preside over the concluding programme on February 4. “The Saraswat Food and Cultural festival provided an opportunity to the members of the community to show case their talent in both food and cultural activities”, he said, adding that the food and cultural festival has been evoking tremendous response from people from all walks of life over the years.
