The Sarpanch of Loutolim Inacinho Fernandes has resigned from the post of Sarpanch.
In his resignation letter addressed to the Director of Panchayats, Inacinho said that he has decided to resign from the post due to sudden pre-occupation with his business and personal commitment which may not give him time to carry out functions and duties as Sarpanch.
“I freely and without any undue influence with my consent hereby tender resignation as the sarpanch of Loutolim village and request you to hold early election for the post under section 46 of the Goa Panchayati Raj Act,” he said in his letter.
He pointed out that he will continue his functions as a member of the Panchayat from his ward and carry out all other duties as necessary in his ward.
Inacinho, who was disqualified by the State Election Commission on the question of payment of dues to the Panchayat at the time of the Panchayat elections, has said that the district Court, South has stayed the order of the State Election Commission.
“Since the disqualification order is stayed by the district Court, I continue to be a member of the Loutolim village panchayat,” Inacinho added.
