The satyagrahis have reacted cautiously to the decision of the Se Old Goa panchayat to revoke the licences for the structure.
Speaking to reporters, Glen Cabral said they have received nothing in writing.
“Until and unless we receive the order in writing, we cannot comment on anything. First, we will have to go through the content of the order and seek legal opinion whether there is scope for any loophole,” Cabral opined and demanded that the panchayat should conduct inspection and panchanama at the earliest.
“Until an inspection is done, the fraud done will not come to light. The structure has come up in a protected area which is the biggest violation,” Cabral added.
Activist Anthony D’Silva said some good has come out finally. “However, what we are demanding is demolition of the structure,” he added.
Advocate A Clovis da Costa said as far as the revocation of TCP technical clearance is concerned, there is scope for challenging the same as no show-cause notice was issued to the violators.
“As far as the panchayat is concerned, if there is no defect in the show-cause notice then we welcome the same,” Costa added.
Meanwhile, locals of Velim extended their support to the agitation as it completed 30 days on Thursday.
Present among the members were former MLA Benjamin Silva, former Ambelim sarpanch Cruz Silva and others.
“The structure has to be demolished immediately only then the Goans will be satisfied,” MLA Silva stated.
