Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday directed all the departments to strengthen waste management system while ensuring 100 per cent regulatory compliance.
The directions were issued during a meeting, charied by the Chief Minister with the Goa Waste Management Corporation’s key officials and stakeholders to review and accelerate the State’s waste management initiatives.
“Issued directions to concerned departments to strengthen hazardous, bio-medical, and wet waste management systems and to ensure 100% regulatory compliance,” Sawant said in a post on ‘X’.
During the meeting, Sawant emphasised the need for scientific, accountable, and time-bound waste management practices to keep Goa clean and green.
“Goa must aspire to set national benchmarks in sustainable waste handling. Every stakeholder has a vital role-let us work collectively towards a Swachh and Swayampurna Goem,” he said.
