Sea water inundates shacks at Majorda

Beach shacks at Majorda inundated with sea water due to the tidal effect on Tuesday noon.

MARGAO
Sea water entered a couple of beach shacks at Majorda beach early on Tuesday afternoon, disrupting activities in the last few days of the tourism season.
The situation has once again prompted shack owners to demand a proper access facility to the beach, as the temporary structure erected by the owners helped provide access to the shacks.
The temporary access facility was partly submerged by the rising sea water, which has been attributed to the high tide.
A shack owner said that sea water entered the shacks around noon, forcing customers to cut short their visit. He also lamented that though Majorda beach is frequented by tourists, permanent beach access is still a far cry.
