A 52-year-old security guard has been accused of molesting a 10-year-old girl in Marra-Pilerne.
In a police complaint, the girl’s mother, who hails from Nepal but resides at Pilerne, stated that the incident took place at about 9 pm on September 4, when Jalam Mahor, a native of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, is alleged to have molested her minor daughter by touching her inappropriately.
Acting on the complaint, Porvorim Police arrested Mahor under Sections 74 & 75 of BNS, and Sections 8 & 12 of the POCSO Act & Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act on September 6. He was later remanded to 14 days in police custody.
Porvorim Lady Police Sub Inspector Laureen Sequeira is investigating the case under the guidance of Porvorim Police Inspector Rahul Parab.
