The Cuncolim Industrial Estate was back in the news on Tuesday – this time with the murder of a security guard.
Senior police officials led by DySP Kiran Podwal and Cuncolim Police station in-charge, PI Therron D’Costa, rushed to the industrial estate on Tuesday noon after news spread that a body of an elderly security guard was found at an industrial unit.
The Cuncolim police have confirmed that the deceased security guard, a native of Karnataka, was murdered by unknown persons last night. They found injuries on the head of the deceased, indicating he was hacked to death by some persons.
The Cuncolim police immediately requisitioned the services of a police sniffer dog and fingerprint experts to assist in the investigations.
The police top brass is believed to have roped in police from Margao police sub-division, especially from Colva and Margao to assist in the interrogations. Two suspects are believed to have been rounded up by the Cuncolim police.
