MARGAO: An alert security guard manning the Margao Municipal building helped to foil a burglary at the building in the wee hours of Wednesday.
In fact, in a commendable display of vigilance, Security Guards Viraj Velip and Satyawan Velip thwarted a theft attempt at the Margao Municipality building in the early hours of February 5.
At approximately 5:20 am, a burglar attempted to break the lock on the back door of the building. However, security guard Viraj Velip's swift action caught the culprit red-handed. He immediately informed his colleague, Satyawan Velip, who assisted in apprehending the thief.
After the duo overpowered the burglary, the Goa Police was informed, and the suspect was handed over to their custody.
This incident was reported by Senior Security Officer Ichit Phaldessai, who commended the security guards for their bravery and alertness.
"We are proud of our security guards for their swift action and dedication to duty," said Senior Security Officer Ichit Phaldessai.
