Three Maharashtra natives held for K'taka man's abduction in Davorlim

MARGAO: The Maina Curtorim police have arrested three persons, all native of Maharashtra for the abduction of 50 year old Shankar Rathod, a native of Karnataka, from near Our Lady of Rosary Church, Davorlim on January 27.

The police have registered a FIR based on a complaint received from Ishwar Rathod, aged 24 yrs native of Vijyapur, Karnataka stating that his father Shankar Rathod, aged 50 yrs native of Vijyapur, Karnataka has been abducted by four persons.

During the investigation, police teams were formed and deputed at Karnataka and Maharashtra and with the assistance of technical surveillance, call monitoring and upon specific collection of intelligence apprehended three accused persons Vishwas Pandhare, aged 36 yrs, native of Jat Sangli- Maharashtra, Abhishek Motiram Rathod, aged 19 yrs, native of Tanda Solapur, Maharashtra and Abhishek Umesh Rathod, aged 24 yrs native of Tanda Solapur, Maharashtra were arrested.

The victim was also rescued and brought to Goa. All the accused persons are presently in police custody.
