The Vasco police station and Baina police outpost too suffered the brunt of rain as rainwater began to seep through the walls of Vasco police station and the false ceiling of Baina police outpost
gave way.
Sources informed that staff at the Vasco police station and Baina police outpost were severely affected as water seeped through the ceiling. Staff remained busy sweeping and mopping almost the entire day.
When contacted, Vasco PI Nalasco Raposo confirmed the seepage at the Vasco police station and Baina police outpost.
“We have brought this to the notice of the PWD Assistant Engineer A D Nagarchi and we are expecting action on this issue soon,” said PI Raposo.
When contacted, Nagarchi informed that the work to repair the leakage at the Vasco police station was tendered, but said there were no takers.
“There was no one who had approached the department from the Baina Police outpost,” said Nagarchi.
“Estimates were drawn for the work at the Vasco police station and the work was tendered twice, but no one has participated. The work will be tendered a third time and anyone submitting a bid will be given the contract,” said Nagarchi.
“Regarding the Baina police outpost, no one had approached us but now we will conduct an inspection. Accordingly, we will prepare the estimate and submit it for further approval and it will take a minimum of 15 days for the formalities,” Nagarchi added.
