Sena demands arrest of Neturlim sarpanch, others

The Shiv Sena has demanded the arrest of Neturlim Sarpanch Rajani Gaonkar, deputy Sarpanch Abhijit Desai and other panch members for alleged criminal conspiracy and criminal misappropriation of money from unsuspecting tourists visiting Netravalli as parking and garbage collection fees.
The demand was made by Shiv Sena leader Rakhi Naik after the Sanguem police registered a FIR against the Sarpanch, deputy sarpanch, panch Prakash Bhagat and other members of the panchayat under section 467, 468, 471, 472, 420 read with section 34 of the IPC.
In her complaint to the police, Rakhi had alleged that the Sarpanch and panch members were clandestinely collecting huge sums of money from unsuspecting tourists visits Netravali as parking and garbage collection fees in the name of the village panchayat. She had alleged that fake receipts were issued in the name of the panchayat with a seal of the panchayat body.
Addressing the media, Rakhi demanded the arrest of all the persons named in the FIR, adding that the police should probe into the seal and as well as the receipt books printed by the Panchayat body. "The Shiv Sena will not remain quite till a proper inquiry is initiated and the culprits arrests", she demanded.

‘Govt plans to make RDA independent’

MAPUSA Stating that RDA has many development plans but faces hurdles in implementing them, Rural Development Minister Jayesh Salgaonkar on Monday said the government has plans to make RDA an independent department. Salgaonkar was speaking during the inauguration of a mini hall constructed by Nachinola Panchayat under RDA at the cost of Rs 32 lakh.
