Quick fix meals are so essential on a holiday aren't they? Elaborate and fancy meals have their place when you have time on hand, but when time is a luxury and you are in need of a quick meal during an excursion, here are a few snack joints which are worth every bit of your effort.

Lily’s Flower

Ah! A flower so rare. We don't blame you if you don't think much of the place from the outside. Even when you walk in to order, you will wonder what the fuss is about. But here's what might change your mind. Their prawn rissoles, tuna roll, hot dogs and burgers. The other specialty of Lily's Flower is it's sense of largesse. Order a glassful of milk shake here and more often than not you will first get a glass full and then another half a measure more.

Inspirations

Inspirations along the busy NH-17 is a regular for many white collar workers in the area, who stop here for a quick mini-lunch. It's not too fussy. Chicken, beef or vegetarian curry with a serving of rice and salad. The food’s great and like none of the greasy, oily, spice-laden regular restaurant fare. Also do not miss out on the pork pies, roast beef sandwiches and other savouries.

Xavier Cafe

If you choose to go on a shopping binge at the iconic Friday Mapusa market, take a break at the equally iconic Xavier Cafe, a favourite among shoppers here. Don't be surprised if they ply more patties or other savouries, than what you have ordered. They only charge you, after counting how many units on the plate are consumed. Beef croquettes, prawn patties, vegetarian and egg chops are awesome.

Menino Jesus

Small, but packs a punch. Menino Jesus in Colva in South Goa is just that kinda place. The smallish snack joint is well known for its cheap rates, which automatically makes it a rage with college students.

But considering the wonderfully consistent chicken cheese spring rolls, beef chops, beef samosas and fish cutlets, which they serve, also ensures that families also make a beeline for this eatery.
