Separate terminals for domestic, international flights at Dabolim

VASCO

Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Friday said Dabolim Airport will have separate terminal buildings for domestic and international flight operations, with the expansion work on the new terminal building to be completed by August 2024.

Rubbishing claims that it would close down, Godinho said the airport was one of the most prestigious airports of the Airports Authority of India.

Dabolim Airport Director Dhanamjaya Rao said the construction of the new terminal as part of the expansion plan is expected to be completed by next year.

“After this work is completed, the present building will be used to handle international flights while the new terminal building will cater to domestic flight operations security hold area. The domestic flights will then be able to handle a greater number of flights while the dedicated international terminal will allow more international flights connections, even during peak areas,” said Rao.
