The Agassaim police on Tuesday arrested some men for allegedly illegally transporting a bull within the State.
The accused identified as Hanumanta Kutakanakeri, Malibubasab Walikar, Eddie Dias, Melcum Palha, Marian Rodrigues, Gurudas Gawas and another unknown person are also booked for threatening and assaulting one Gauresh Naringrekar, who demanded producing document for transporting the animal.
“When the complainant sought documents or permission for transporting the bull in their vehicle, the accused threatened the complainant with dire consequences, abused him and manhandled and even punched Naringrekar in his face. The accused also did not take proper precaution, which resulted in the cruelty to the animal,” the FIR states.
