Architect Ankit Prabhudessai says: "The entire development is dedicated to famous Goemkars. The objective of the project is to convert, redevelop and upgrade the existing road outside Inox and to convert the existing SGPDA ground partly into a parking space and an exhibition area."
He said the first step is to demarcate the road adjoining Osia complex and Inox as it will be dedicated to 20 famous Goan personalities. "Portraits of these personalities will be displayed on exposed laterite walls adjacent to the footpath along with some write-up about them. The footpath will also be shaded by trees and outdoor seating will be provided. Clearly defined entries and exits will be demarcated for the exhibition as well as the parking area," Ankit said.
TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai says: "The SGPDA land will be developed into parking space that will hold 210 four-wheelers and 430 two-wheelers parking bays, once ready. This project is being funded under the MPLAD funds of outgoing Rajya Sabha MP Shantaram Naik. Whatever balance amount will be chipped by the TCP department and the Water Resources department," he said.
The TCP Minister pointed out that shaded footpaths will be provided all along the parking bays to ease pedestrian movement, adding that parking area will be shaded by trees.
