SGPDA member secretary Kumar transferred, raises eyebrows

MARGAO
In an interesting development, the Member Secretary of the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) Town Planner Vinod Kumar has been shunted out of the PDA on Thursday.

Vinod Kumar has been replaced by Dy Town Planner, NGPDA Shaikh Ali Ahmed as the new Member Secretary. Kumar has been transferred and posted in the TCP headquarters, Panaji.

The transfer of Vinod Kumar has raised many an eyebrow in official circles given that he assumed the office of the SGDPA as Member Secretary around six months ago.

While sources in the know informed that Vinod Kumar has sought his transfer from office, the transfer has indeed raised eyebrows as the SGPDA was scheduled to take up the issue of the Outline Development Plan (ODP) for Margao and Ponda planning areas.

The outgoing PDA Member Secretary was in the news last week after he filed an affidavit in the High Court during the hearing of a PIL regarding kabrastan that burial grounds can be permitted in a settlement zone.
