The South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) on Tuesday has decided to rope in a new agency to look after the upkeep and maintenance of the renovated retail fish market and to sign a MoU with the GSIDC to build a modern wholesale fish market at the existing site at Madel.
The meeting chaired by PDA Chairperson Dr Renuka Da Silva, which was attended by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, and members MMC Chairperson Babita Prabhudesai, Vice-Chairperson Tito Cardozo, Venkat Raut, Santoba Desai underscored the need to maintain cleanliness of the renovated fish market and to build the wholesale fish market at the earliest.
PDA Member Secretary Ashok Kumar informed that the meeting has basically decided to outsource cleanliness and upkeep of the PDA retail market, which was refurbished on the lines of the Dubai market a couple of months ago.
“A tender will be floated to rope in an expert agency,” he said.
