Shakespeare fest on Sept 14
PANAJI: The Department of English, Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), will host its seventh annual Shakespeare festival “ The Bard by the Mandovi-2016, on September 14. This year the event will commemorate the 400th death anniversary of William Shakespeare. Students from high schools and higher secondary schools from all over Goa will participate in seven events through the day as well as take part in allied shows on the campus. The event like every year is open to the public. Those who would like to visit can contact Andrew Barreto Assistant Professor, Department of English.
Last year the event saw participation form 18 high schools and higher secondary schools. The events includes Steal a Scene (adapted play performances), Friends, Romans, Countrymen (presentation contest), The Bard (poetry recitation contest), The Shakespeare Soliloquy (dramatic monologue contest), Mozaic! (painting event), Bedtime Shakespeare (Shakespeare children’s storybook creation) and Diorama Drama! (model a scene from Shakespeare's plays).
