"Covid has claimed many lives in Sattari and this has created a dire situation for many families. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj utsav Committee will try to help the families who have become destitute due to the pandemic. Similarly, on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's coronation day, everyone should take an oath to support each other," said the state Health Minister.
On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's coronation day, Shivaji's work was commmemorated in front of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Valpoi Municipal garden.
On this occasion, chairperson of the municipality Sahazin Sheikh, Deputy Collector of Sattari taluka Rajesh Ajgaonkar, Magistrate Dashrath Gavas, councillor Sarfaraz Sayyed, Prasanna Gavas, Nirmala Sakhalkar, Shiv Jayanti Utsav Samiti working president Yeshwant Gavas, secretary Prasad Khadilkar, treasurer Milind Gadgil, Pradip Gavandalkar and others were present.
Speaking to the participants, Health Minister said that efforts would be made to help the destitute families in Sattari taluka. He appealed to the Shiv Jayanti celebration committee to take initiative in this regard. He also clarified that the beautification of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Municipal garden would be undertaken soon. The project has been stalled for the last few years. However, he assured that efforts would be made in the context of this project as a matter of priority.
"We are giving priority to job creation and elimination of unemployment and this issue will be given special attention in future. He appealed to the unemployed youth not to fall prey to the misconceptions of the opposition. He clarified that he will make special efforts for the development of the municipal area and planning is underway in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, UdaySingh Rane of the Utsav Samiti spoke on the work of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his contribution for the betterment of the society.
