Covid snatches 16 more lives, 403 new infections reported

There was no respite in the number of deaths due to Covid as 16 more people succumbed to the dreaded infection in the last 24 hours.

The cumulative death toll in the State has now increased to 2,760. Of the 16 deaths, 10 were recorded at Goa Medical College, Bambolim, 5 at the South Goa District Hospital and one at Victor Hospital in South Goa.

Among the 16 who lost their lives, the youngest was a 32-year old man from Khandepar

Meanwhile, a total of 403 new infections were reported in the State in the last 24 hours. This translates into 13.33 per cent being tested positive of the 3022 samples that were tested for Covid.

However, with 1,449 recoveries, the active Covid count of the State dropped further to 7,154.
