Union Tourism Minister and senior BJP leader Shripad Naik on Friday said the entry of new political parties into the Goa political arena will in no way affect the ruling party in the 2022 Assembly polls.
Shripad said that BJP is one party that has a fixed and permanent voter base that will keep the party in good stead in the election. On the contrary, he said the entry of the new parties will only divide the anti-BJP vote, which will ultimately benefit the ruling party.
“The BJP has fixed and permanent vote. This vote will help the party to retain power in the state,” he added.
Speaking at the sidelines of a programme on Hindi language at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, on Friday morning, the Union Minister further said the recent poll surveys conducted by some agencies may not have brought out the real ground picture.
“Not all surveys are correct. One should understand that the BJP is one party which has a network right up to the booth level. We have workers working at the booths. This situation may not have reflected in the surveys. We are not concerned about the projections made by these surveys,” he said, while exuding confidence in winning majority seats to retain power in the state in 2022.
