While Aldona is reeling from shock following the deaths of siblings Sebastian Cardozo (68) and Evelyn Cardozo (72), a new revelation indicates that Sebastian may have planned the act in advance.
According to police sources, hours before the incident, the deceased Sebastian Cardozo reportedly made a phone call to a friend based in Mapusa, expressing unease and requesting him to handle his last rites if anything happened to him.
Sensing distress, the friend rushed to Sebastian’s residence in Quitla, only to discover the lifeless bodies of the siblings. A suicide note found at the scene has led authorities to suspect that Sebastian may have taken his sister’s life before ending his own. However, the exact sequence of events remains under investigation.
Mapusa Police Inspector Nikhil Paleykar confirmed that autopsy reports for both deceased individuals have been received.
Additionally, the viscera of Evelyn Cardozo has been sent for chemical analysis, and the results are awaited.
The tragic deaths have left the Quitla community grappling with grief and questions about the circumstances leading to the incident.
Police continue to investigate the case, piecing together evidence to determine what may have driven the siblings to such a heartbreaking end.
