Verna-based company Sierra Circuits on Friday offered an advanced life support ambulance to the SMRC hospital in Chicalim.
The ambulance was handed over by Naveen Rai of Sierra Circuits to Ranjana Salgaocar, Vice-president, Governing Council at SMRC VM Salgaocar Hospital in the presence of Vasco-based social worker Kunal Dhargalkar.
This is the second ambulance donated by the company and a few days ago, the company had handed over a similar ambulance to the Chicalim Sub District Hospital (SDH).
Sources said Dhargalkar had put forth the proposal to the Sierra Circuits to offer two ambulances to hospitals in Mormugao taluka and the company agreed to do so.
Dhargalkar will also pay for the ambulance fuel charges which will operate for the Chicalim SDH.
Speaking to media, Ranjana Salgaocar of VM Salgaocar Hospital said: "We are grateful to Sierra Circuits company for helping us in the hour of need and this ambulance will go a long way in helping treat critical patients or shifting patients from their houses to hospitals.”
