The Khapreshwar Temple Committee President, Pramod Desai, on Sunday offered a silver mace to the deity as part of the 27th Vardhapan Day Celebrations. The committee members and devotees took out a religious procession along with the mace in all areas of Baina along with ‘Dindi Pathak’ organised by Babu Gadekar. The mace was installed alongside the deity’s idol after the procession.
Speaking to media later, Desai said, “I am only the medium chosen by God to offer the mace as an offering but I want to offer this to God Khapreshwar on behalf of all the devotees. I pray to God to offer me the strength to continue to offer my service to God and the temple and may be bless us to be united in all the temple functions. I am grateful to the temple priests and the devotees for having made every function of the temple a great success.”
Commitee Member Shivdas Naik said that the Khapreshwar temple witnessed a historic moment as a silver mace was offered to the deity.
“We had never planned anything but all fell in place and a lot of people supported us for this function,” he added.
