A 54-year-old resident of Oxel, Siolim was arrested with charas worth Rs 3.41 lakh, Anjuna Police informed.
The accused has been identified as Vinod Salgaonkar and is a resident of Vadi, Oxel in Siolim.
Acting on specific information, Anjuna PI Prashal Dessai along with his team conducted a late evening raid near the futsal ground in Siolim and apprehended the accused.
During a search operation, charas worth Rs 3.41 lakh in the international market was found on this person.
Police seized the drug and arrested the accused under Section 20(b) (ii) (b) of the NDPS Act. He is presently in police custody.
The raiding team consisted of PSI Francisco Xavier, Constables Rupesh Azgaonkar, Pravin Patil, Laxman Sawal Desai, Adarsh Nagekar and others.
