Censuring the leaders of Goa Forward Party for misleading the people, Siolim BJP Mandal, President, Narayan Mandrekar said Vinod Palyekar of the Goa Forward was spreading lies to overcome shortcomings in his campaign.
“Palyekar has become restless. He has been discarded by the Congress and now he’s trying to make his way back into Congress,” Mandrekar said.
The Siolim BJP Mandal, president was addressing a news conference ostensibly to announce the holding of Vijay Sankalp rally in Siolim on December 4.
Speaking further, he said initially the GFP, leader, Vinond Palyekar was spreading lies through the media that the River Front project was estimated to cost Rs 500 crore when the actual cost of the project was only Rs 13.50 crore.
On the recent issue on the water tank, he said that work on the water tank was never completed and it was never inaugurated.
“The work on the tank is still going on. If part of the tank has collapsed while the work is going on, the contractor has to fix it. Where is the scam in the works,” Mandrekar questioned.
He said Palyekar was free to file as many complaints as possible with the vigilance and other authorities. He will be exposed when the truth comes out, he added.
The Siolim BJP Mandal, president announced that the Vijay Sankalp rally for Siolim constituency will be held at Chivar ground in Anjuna on December 4. The rally will kick off at 5.30 pm.
“Considering the response that we are getting from people on account of our corner meetings, we expect more than 8,000 people to attend the rally,” Mandrekar said.
He said the rally will be addressed by Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar, Ayush Minister, Shripad Naik, Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar, Deputy Chief Minister, Francis D’Souza and other MLAs. Besides BJP party chief, Vinay Tendulkar, Vice President, Datta Kholkar, General Secretary, Sadanand Tanavde and other leaders will also be present for the rally, he added.
Zilla, Vice President, Vassudev Korgaonkar, State BJP Mahila, Vice President, Chaya Gad, Siolim BJP Mandal, Vice President, Anand Kandolkar, Mandal, General Secretary, Digambar Agarwadekar were present at the news conference.
