The driver of the outstation vehicle that rammed onto the Goan vehicle on the Siolim-Chopdem Bridge was on Monday remanded to seven days police custody.
A Mapusa court sent the accused driver, Shekar Dubey (30) of Kalyan (W) Mumbai to seven days police custody.
The other four inmates of the Maharashtra-registered Toyota Fortuner vehicke were released
after police recorded their statements.
Meanwhile, the mother Milagrin Fernandes and one
of the neighbours, Elton Simoes who suffered serious fractures in the mishap are recuperating in the Intensive Care Unit of GMC in Bambolim.
The daughter and the other neighbour are also undergoing treatment in the North Goa District Hospital.
It may be recalled the father-son duo of the Morjim family were killed in a tragic road mishap when a Maharashtra registered vehicle rammed into their Swift car on the Siolim-Chopdem Bridge early Sunday
morning.
The family was on their way for a liturgical service on the occasion of the feast of St Anthony in Siolim Church. An outraged 250-strong mob set the outstation vehicle on fire, demanding justice for the victims and blocked the bridge for four hours
