Skill development courses in the State offered to children from Std IX to XII are likely to see significant changes, as Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday suggested an amendment to the recruitment rules of these courses, when he chaired a skill training meeting under the National Skill Qualifying Forum (NSQF) organised by Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan at the Secretariat.
The skill training is being imparted to students from Std IX to XII in the fields of Healthcare, Agriculture, Hospitality and other fields under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
According to a press release, the Chief Minister reportedly said that more efforts are to be put in by the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan so that after passing Std XII, students could gain the required expertise in their respective subjects which is related to working in the field.
The CM also suggested an amendment to the recruitment rules of all the posts related to skill development so that specialised persons can be recruited to teach these subjects.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of Education Nila Mohanan, IAS, State Project Director Neetal Amonkar, Dr Ghadi from the Directorate of Education, State Coordinator Kore, Bharat Naik from the Goa Board, and Suhas Thakur Desai.
