Sakhali Municipal Council (SMC) Chairperson Dharmesh Saglani has asked Sakhali Primary Health Centre (PHC) to direct the person who has erected a mobile phone tower in the Sakhali PHC area to remove it within eight days.
Saglani recently met PHC health officer Surekha Parulekar and held discussion to remove the mobile tower erected in Sakhali PHC area. He had also expressed surprise that neither the PHC authorities nor the Sakhali MLA was aware about the installation of the tower.
In a memorandum, Saglani has stated that the health department and State government should give explanation of the mobile tower and should remove it immediately.
Saglani warned that he would take to the road and agitate along with the people if the mobile phone tower was not removed within eight days.
Pravin Blaggon, who also accompanied Saglani, said the State government has not provided good facilities in Sakhali PHC, but it did not bother to know who installed the tower and it is necessary to know who is the mastermind behind it.
“Three health officers from Sakhali PHC were transferred at short notice and I want to know the reason behind it,” said Blaggon.
Councillors Riaz Khan, Damodar Ghadi, Milind Relekar, Kunda Madkar, Rashmi Desai, Brahmanand Desai, former sarpanch Pravin Blaggon, Dr Saroj Desai, Nilkanth Gawas and Shailendra Kanekar were present while submitting the memorandum.
