“The Murgao Hindu Samaj (MHS) and the Mahalaxmi Utsav Samiti (MUS) regulates these events in Vasco city, which has Laxmi idol processions across all corners of the city.”

“This has been our tradition and I feel we must not discontinue this. We can always have SOPs and guidelines for the people,” said Kinlekar, while speaking to reporters.

Kinlekar said the MHS must declare whether there will be a competition or an online platform or whether judges will individually go to different locations to check Narkasur effigies, instead of bringing them together for a competition, which will attract crowd. The committee can also clarify on the height of effigies and material to be used,” said Kinlekar.
