Daughter finds bodies after she returned from work

There was shock in Bicholim after an active social worker and his son were found dead at their house in Naiknagar-Borde at Bicholim on Monday evening.
Both bodies were discovered in the same room, and the police investigation into the case continued late into night.
According to available information, the body of social worker, Sanjay Mhapsekar, was found lying on the floor, while the body of his son, Sanchit, was found lying on a cot in the room.
The incident came to light when Sanjay’s daughter returned home from work. She was shocked to see both of them lying motionless. Panicked by the sight, she immediately called her maternal uncle and informed him about the situation. After receiving the call, the uncle rushed to the spot. With the help of local residents, he entered the house and found both father and son dead.
The Bicholim police were later informed about the incident. A 108 ambulance service was also called to the scene. After examining the bodies, the medical staff in the ambulance confirmed that both individuals had already died. Soon after, the police also arrived at the location and began their investigation.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Bicholim MLA Dr Chandrakant Shetye rushed to the spot. Senior office bearers of the Bicholim BJP Mandal and former MLA Naresh Sawal also visited the scene, inspected the situation, and spoke with the family members.
Under the guidance of Bicholim Police Inspector Vijay Rane, a team of police officers and personnel reached the location and began conducting the panchanama. The police immediately called the forensic team, which arrived at the spot at around 9:30 PM. The forensic experts carried out a detailed examination and attempted to collect necessary evidence related to the case.
According to sources, a 12-page handwritten note written by Sanjay Mhapsekar was found at the scene. It is believed that the note contains information about the incident along with certain instructions and details. However, the entire content of the note has not yet been fully understood. People present at the scene said Sanchit had an injury on his mouth and there was bleeding.
After the forensic team completed its examination and the necessary procedures were conducted, both bodies were sent late at night to the Goa Medical College hospital at Bambolim for post-mortem examination. Further investigation is being carried out by the police team under the guidance of Police Inspector Vijay Rane.
The post-mortem examinations of both bodies will be conducted on Tuesday, which is expected to clarify the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, MLA Dr Chandrakant Shetye expressed grief over the tragic incident.
