SOTTO hosts successful Ad film & reel-making competition

The State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO) at Goa Medical College successfully organised a state-level Ad film and reel making competition on the theme of organ donation. The event aimed to encourage filmmakers and content creators in Goa to spread the vital message of organ donation through their creative work.

Announced in mid-January, the competition received an impressive response, with 25 Ad Films and 8 Reels submitted. A respected panel of judges, including Dr. Preeti Varghese (Joint Director, SOTTO Goa), Sachin Chatte (Film Reviewer), and Shraddha Kelkar (Consultant IEC, SOTTO Goa), carefully evaluated the entries.

The winners were felicitated at ‘Pratibha’, the prize distribution and cultural event of Goa Medical College. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, presented certificates, trophies, and cash prizes to the winners. The event was graced by dignitaries such as Prof. Dr SM Bandekar (Dean, Goa Medical College), Trupti Manerkar (Additional Secretary, Health, Government of Goa), professors, heads of departments, students, and parents.

In the Ad Film category, the first prize of Rs 50,000 was awarded to Aarya Mayekar for the film “Dvipraan”. The second prize of Rs 30,000 went to Aashirwad Moving Images for “Sanskruti”. The third prize of Rs 20,000 was shared by two films: “Aiz Maka Falea Tuka” by Desmond Pinto and “Organ Donation” by Vibrant Films Goa.

In the Reel category, the first prize of Rs 15,000 was won by Amey Khandeparker for “True Meaning of Life”. The second prize of Rs 10,000 went to Akshay Volvoikar for “Uzzoh”, while the third prize of Rs 5,000 was awarded to Atharv Salgaonkar for “Donation “ The Ultimate Pass”. A special prize of Rs 5,000 was also given to Alia J Mallah for the reel “Innocence”.

PERNEMA meeting was recently held at the Pernem Taluka ADEI Office hall to plan for the upcoming Goa Board SSC examinations, scheduled to commence on 1 March.
