Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the appointment of Dr Pratiksha Khalap as president of the Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress.
Khalap’s appointment was among six State unit presidents of the grand old party’s women’s wings approved by Kharge earlier this week.
She takes over the mantle from the outgoing president, Beena Shantaram Naik, who had given up the position in October last year but held the charge until her replacement was appointed. Naik, who is the widow of former Rajya Sabha MP Shantaram Naik had vacated the position asking the party to appoint a younger leader and infuse fresh blood in the organisation.
