In view of the ongoing Vasco Saptah festival, South Goa Collector Egna Cleetus, IAS, and South Goa SP Tikam Singh Verma, IPS, inspected the arrangements at the Saptah fair in the presence of Vasco MLA Krishna Daji Salkar.
According to sources, the South Goa Collector visited the temple premises and directed the authorities to ensure adequate fire safety measures. Following her directions, two fire extinguishers were immediately installed inside the temple premises.
The Collector also directed that flower vendors operating near the temple be shifted slightly away from the premises to ensure better crowd movement and safety.
During the inspection, she also visited some food stalls and reportedly directed vendors to stop cooking at the stalls. She instructed that food should be prepared only at a designated central kitchen, with the aim of reducing fire and safety risks within the crowded fair area.
