South Goa Dist collector issues orders extending curfew till June 7

South Goa District Collector Ruchika Katyal, IAS has on Saturday issued directions, extending the curfew that was imposed till 7 am on May 31, 2021, vide orders dated May 22, till 7 am on June 7, 2021.

In her order, the Collector said Covid cases are still being reported in high number in Goa and other parts of the country, and the situation might further aggravate due to public gatherings and active interactions along with a high positivity rate.

She further stated that to contain the spread of the said pandemic, certain measures were undertaken and more are required to prevent the further spread of the disease.

The order stated that additional restrictions imposed in Covid Containment Zones shall remain in force.

The Collector has warned that any person contravening this order shall be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
