PANAJI: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Goa stated that a special drive will be conducted across the State to enroll eligible citizens left out of the electoral roll and young, first-time voters, following instructions from the Election Commission of India (ECI).
In an official statement issued on Thursday, the CEO’s office said the drive will focus on facilitating the enrolment of eligible citizens who have not yet been included in the electoral roll, including young and first-time eligible electors.
The exercise will be carried out as part of the continuous updation of electoral rolls through house-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
“The active participation and cooperation of citizens will help ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll and that all eligible citizens are able to exercise their right to vote,” the CEO’s office said.
All eligible citizens have been urged to avail themselves of the opportunity and ensure that they are duly enrolled in the electoral roll.
