SPOTLIGHT | Tawadkar rejects alleged role in UTAA power tussle

PANAJI
Cancaona MLA and tribal leader Ramesh Tawadkar has distanced himself from the controversy surrounding UTTA and its functionaries.

Tawadkar claims that a difference in ideology forced him to withdraw his association with UTTA way back in 2012 ” when, for the very first time, he was inducted as a minister in the Manohar Parrikar cabinet.

“It won’t be fair on my part to comment on the UTTA issue, as I am not part of that organisation,” he said, while adding that those who have filed complaints against Prakash Velip and others are in no way associated with him, as alleged by some.

“I don’t need any organisation or any faction to work for the people of my community. I am capable enough to take the movement forward alone,” he asserted.
