Over 20,000 students commenced their crucial Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination being conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education at 31 centres across Goa on Saturday.
The 20,000-odd students -- 10,411 boys and 10,078 girls -- answered their first language paper on Saturday and the examination will go on until April 22.
The Board has instructed the students to take precautions in view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases being reported in the State. Instructions have also been issued to chief conductors to ensure that arrangements are made at the centres to isolate students who may experience some symptoms.
This is the second term of the SSC examination after the two-term exam pattern introduced by the Board after physical examinations had to be abandoned due to the pandemic.
