SSCE evaluation details soon: Board

PANAJI
The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBS&HSE) at its AGM on Saturday finalised the proposal to have ‘external assessors’ drawn from faculty of neighbouring schools to oversee the evaluation of internal marks of SSC students, but discussion on several other issues of the evaluation module remained inconclusive.

The decision to have ‘external assessors’ is aimed at ensuring fairness in the assessment process and eliminate the possibility of leniency by schools to promote their own students.

BS&HSE chairman Bhagirath Shetye said the Board will make public the details known in the next few days once everything is finalised.

“We had the AGM today where the SSC assessment issue was deliberated but not all aspects have been finalised,” Shetye told The Goan.

In Saturday’s AGM, the Board members also deliberated on issues of how mark-sheets will be written and other logistics related to the results of the SSC students, a crucial milestone in the educational career of a student.

Class 12: Board keen on pursuing CBSE template

PANAJI: Deliberations at the AGM of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBS&HSE) on Saturday veered towards broadly following the template set by the CBSE for the conduct of class XII (HSSC) examination. Sources said most members favoured the move of studying the examination template set out by the CBSE, including scheduling of papers, and coming up with its own schedule and blue-print to conduct the physical exam.
